Here are some of the things you can do on the GA4 Homepage:

  • See your top metrics at a glance, such as website traffic, app installs, and conversions.
  • Get insights into your users’ behavior, such as how they’re finding your website or app, what pages or screens they’re viewing, and how they’re converting.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards to track the metrics that matter most to your business.
  • Use machine learning to get personalized insights and recommendations.

The GA4 Homepage is a powerful tool that can help you understand your website and app traffic and insights, and make better decisions to improve your business.

Overview

The GA4 Homepage overview card displays metrics that are relevant to you, with a trendline for each metric. Analytics updates the metrics in the overview card based on your behavior in Analytics.

For example, if you regularly look at the Total revenue metric, Analytics adds a tab to the overview card that shows how much revenue changed in the last 7 days. You can click the tab to see a trendline (solid line) with a data point for each day in the last 7 days compared to data points for the previous 7 days (dashed line).

The GA4 Homepage overview card is a powerful tool that can help you monitor your most important metrics and identify trends over time. It is also a great way to stay on top of your performance and make sure that your business is on track to meet its goals.

You can also hover over a metric in the GA4 Homepage overview card to see a drop-down menu so you can change the metric. When you personalize the overview card, other people in your property won’t see your changes. Whether you change the metric or date on the card, Analytics will restore your choices in future sessions.

This means that you can customize the GA4 Homepage overview card to show the metrics and dates that are most important to you. For example, if you are focused on increasing website traffic, you can add metrics like Users and Sessions to the overview card. You can also change the date range to show how your traffic has changed over time.

Realtime Accessed Data

The GA4 Homepage Recently accessed section provides links to parts of your Analytics account that you accessed most recently. This allows you to quickly return to your previous analysis or work on reports that you are frequently using.

For example, if you recently viewed the Admin page, the Home page includes a link to the Admin page along with when you last visited the page. When you click the link, you will be taken directly to the Admin page.

Similarly, if you recently viewed a report and made changes to it, such as changing the primary dimension or metric, those changes will be saved and applied when you return to the report using the Recently accessed section.

This can save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you are working on multiple projects or reports at the same time.

Insights & Recommendation

The GA4 Homepage Insights & Recommendations section shows you insights and recommendations that can help you improve your website or app performance.

Insights

Insights are unusual changes, emerging trends, and other insights about your site or app. For example, you might see an insight about a sudden increase in traffic from a particular country or a decrease in conversion rates on a specific page.

Insights can help you quickly identify changes in your data that may warrant further analysis and action. For example, if you see an insight about a sudden increase in traffic from a particular country, you may want to investigate whether this is due to a new marketing campaign or a technical issue with your website.

Recommendations

Recommendations are tailored suggestions to help you get the most useful and accurate data and take advantage of new, relevant features as they become available. For example, you might see a recommendation to set up a new report or to enable a new feature.

Recommendations can help you improve your data collection and analysis, and make better use of GA4 features. For example, if you see a recommendation to set up a new report, you may want to consider setting up a report that tracks the performance of a specific marketing campaign or the conversion rates of your most important pages.

Adjust the date range

By default, the overview card and the cards in the Because you view frequently section on the GA4 Homepage show data for the last 7 days. This is a good starting point, as it allows you to quickly see how your website or app has performed over the past week.

Adjust the Date Range

Adjust the Date Range

However, you can also adjust the date range on any card to show data for a different period of time. To do this, simply click the drop-down menu at the bottom left of the card and select the desired date range.

Adjusting the date range on one card will not change the date range on other cards on the Homepage. This means that you can customize each card to show the data that is most relevant to you.
